So we did Ward 32 and that worked out pretty well — but now it’s time to vote for what’s next!
Here’s how it’s going to work. I’ll list out the other three candidates from last time and you can all vote on which you’d like to see next.
See? Simple!
Go to it!
Dames, Dollars, and Derringers:
Dames, Dollars, and Derringers is a noir-styled tale about a hard-boiled detective and the case he just can’t refuse. It’s a gritty gumshoe tale about loss, love, and learning to let go.
Typical elements include: Inner Monologues, Dames, Guns, Booze, More Guns, Crime, and More Guns. May or may not contain supernatural elements.
Trolls in the City:
It’s been a long time since the land of Faerie was closed to you. You were exiled, like all the others, for one reason or another — a crime either imaginary or all too real (in Faerie, who can tell the difference). Now you live in the big city with the rest of the outcasts and just try to forget all that you left behind. But sometimes the things that you leave behind have a way of remembering you.
Typical elements include: Apartments, the fantastic VS the mundane, magical creatures, monsters, wizards, subways, mundane jobs
Under the Bed:
Your parents always tell you the monsters are not real. They refuse your requests for a night light, for a crack in the door, to sleep in their bed. You need to learn to be independent, they say. It’s for your own good. But you know what lies under the bed. You’ve been there and they haven’t. You’ve seen the horrors with your own eyes, and seen what they can do to little children. The consequences are all too real.
Typical elements include: Childhood, fantasy, horror, monsters, death, parents, school
Note: These concepts are rough. As with Ward 32, they indicate some basics about the story, but details will change in the actual game.

Under the Bed FTW
I’m tempted to go with Trolls in the City, but RedHawk has such a compelling argument…
I’m down with DDnD (Haaa you see what I did there?!) myself. I’m a sucker for noir. Plus, I’m always intrigued by a semi-historical setting. Fantasy tales are nice, but there are too damn many of them.
Play it again Sam. DDnD for me.
Alas, no love for trolls in the city. Anyone have any ideas as to why that one is doing so poorly?
I actually love the concept and voted for it last time. But with several votes already placed for DDnD and Under the Bed, I felt I needed to examine my choices between those two stories because of the limited amount of choices I felt I might be throwing my vote away if I had chosen Trolls this time around. I really have no love for Under the Bed and would rather see DDnD or Trolls. But since DDnD and UtB were the only two choices with multiple votes, I went with DDnD to try and rally votes for what I thought were the better of the two choices. (Sortta like our national elections… 😉 )
I’m still into the horror and “Cthulhu-esque” type RPG’s right now. And Under the Bed appeals more to that. My second choice was Trolls though.
Dodger, Trolls was my second choice. DDnD sounds like a classic P.I. Story I’ve heard a dozen times to be honest. Trolls has my vote next time around.
I really really heart Sin City. That’s my rationale.
Although, the plot elements for Under the Bed crack me up.
There was no love for Trolls, because DD&D was my last choice. Based on our last vote I knew it was the lead contender, so I threw my weight in with UtB. In a perfect world I would have chosen Trolls. 😛
